Hearst Castle Tours
Tour One Experience Tour is recommended for first-time visitors as it provides a broad overview of the many facets of Hearst Castle, and is the least strenuous of the tours. Tour duration is one hour and 45 minutes which includes the bus ride to and from the castle. Tour One now includes the National Geographic companion movie “Hearst Castle Building the Dream”. Tour Two Upper Floors of Casa Grande focuses on the architectural elements and vast art collection in the main house, or Casa Grande. Featured rooms on this tour include; the Doge’s Suite, “The Cloisters”, the Library, the Gothic Suite, and the Kitchen. Tour duration is one hour and 45 minutes which includes the bus ride to and from the castle. Tour Three North Wing of Casa Grande provides an overview of the construction and development of the Hilltop by contrasting the earliest guest house with the most recent addition, the North Wing. Tour duration is one hour and 45 minutes which includes the bus ride to and from the castle. Tour Four Garden Tour not only concentrates on the beauty of the botanical gardens, but also provides a glimpse into some of the less familiar aspects of the Hearst Castle. Tour duration is one hour and 45 minutes which includes the bus ride to and from the castle. Tour Four is available April through October. Tour Five Evening Tour a special tour that allows visitors to experience the Castle at night as one of Hearst’s own visitors might have. The evening tour features highlights from Tour One, Tour Two, Tour Three and Tour Four. The evening tour takes approximately two hours and ten minutes including the bus ride to and from the hilltop. Visitors should be aware that the evening tour contains a large number of stairs. Tour Five is available in Spring and Fall only.
